After gutting our house, we have gotten most of the rooms done. Here are the after photos of my middle son's room, my office, my downstairs halls, the laundry room and the workshop / storage room!

I DON'T NEED FLY LADY......I need a can of gas and a match.

Please don't say that... Your house is beautiful , so much potential. Did you shine your sink ? I just started to flutter, but in my mind i'm already flying. It really is amazing what you can do in 15 minutes.. Specially if you start with a few 27 fling boogies like i did , after shining my sink ofcourse ;-)

I've been a flybaby for a while now... and I flutter up and down, but I just keep hanging in there, even when I get that buried feeling . Sometimes when I'm pulling myself and my house out of a nose dive, it feels like I'm trying to get a great big wheel to start turning ... at first it feels like it will be impossible to do... but those babysteps really *do* get that wheel turning, you just have to keep at it. Remember, you don't have to do everything at once. Just ignore any reminders you're not ready for and practice with the itty-bitty babysteps. If you need to break your 15-minutes into smaller bits, you can do that too. It 's okay! And remember, you aren't alone! FlyLady and her fabulous crew are backing you up, as are all the rest of us other flybabies! Big, big hugs from way up north!

Thanks for your support. Yes, I have shined my sink. And man did it look awesome. And that lasted about two weeks and then the rest of the kitchen took over again.

Sherrie, take a look at my movies, there 's one where i'm all proud of my shiny sink , and one movie later i had to start over again because i thought it wouldn't matter if i would skip shining it once.
That was after 1 week, so i'm probably worse than you, lol. I know it's an ongoing process , not a cure (flying) look at Flylady's movies, she's still a she too!! Maybe we can flutter together for a while? Maybe it helps if you're not alone doing things , even though i'm on the other side of the world, lol.. I mean i'm just starting and most people here seem to be flying for years so i think it would be nice to learn to fly together with someone who's starting too?

I would love to have a friend to flutter with. As with anything in life, friends make it more fun!

I hear you about the sink! My dishes never seem to end. Hang in there. I'm struggling too. I feel like I'm in a flybaby cocoon. I'm wrapped up so tight and so completely surrounded that it's easy to get discouraged. Actually Flying seems light years away. May the Lord watch over and bless you, your boys and your husband.

Keep on shining your sink and wearing your shoes. FlyLady has really motivated me. Just doing 15 minutes at a time makes a huge difference . I just concentrated on shining my sink, doing dishes and clearing 2 hotspots for a month . I did the 27 fling boogie for a week in each room. Only now have I moved on to the zone work.

We're all behind you Sherrie. :0)

Just 15 minutes at a time. It may take a long time but it will happen. Pick one room to start with. I usually start with a bathroom because I can do that quicker. I used to live in a tiny dark old moldy apartment and I felt so hopeless. I called this place that will come pick up donations of clothes and stuff from your house and set up a pickup for every Monday. It was hard to let things go but gradually I let a lot of it go. Don 't think you are the only one with a house like that. My house was! I didn't think flylady could help me either. I signed up a long time ago and then quit. I just read a lot of emails but didn't put it into action so......... nothing got better. I was very depressed this pasted winter, lost my job, and then signed up again. I think GOD for Flylady! She' s not perfect. She's not another Marta Stewart . She's REAL and has a huge heart. Let her help you. If you need someone to talk to I'll be here. donnaj71@gmail.com

You will get there, just remember you are not alone. I'm not where I want to be yet either , but I have faith that I will get there and I have faith that you will too.

Thank you to everyone for all of your support . It does get quite discouraging at times and is nice to know I am not the only one out there (although there are probably not many houses out there that look like mine *G*). < br /> We have made plans to have the kids out of the house for 5 days and me, my husband , and my mother are going to gut the house! Check back in mid July for after photos!
Wish me luck!

I can't wait! Just have the courage to let go of the things you think you need or feel emotionally attached to but don' t really make you happy! I've finally started to part with things I thought I'd never part with and I'm happier because it's not cluttering up my life and hanging over me head, or desk, or table, or door.........;) It is so freeing. Good Luck!

I tried to add a comment twice today but seem to have lost them so will jtry again. My home was just like yours, too much stuff! I have been with Flylady for about 6 years now and if I had before photos they'd be like yours. My kids had so many toys and I kept everything. It has taken me a long time but over the years I have learned that letting go of stuff (blessing others) has been the best thing I ever learned to do. My house still gets messy daily but now there is not so much stuff it is far easier to cope. My kids are getting a little older now and they only have a few special toys, All the rest went to the thrift shop or the bin. I have given so much away and I'm sure that each time stuff went I got a little more of my energy back. Remember everything that goes is something you will never have to pick up and tidy again -Yay. I'd love to be your flutter friend too !

Hi, Sherry! I also wanted to send you a huge hug, and tell you that you are not alone. You are a very brave lady because you already showed us your home... that's the first step ! Let us know how you are getting on, even if it is a shelf or a table at a time.
< br /> I recognized some Thomas the Tank Engine toys and decorations! My little one is also a big, big fan. Good luck and lots of LOVE .
